General Rules

Staying and Working In the UAE

If you have arrived in the United Arab Emirates with the help of a UAE Visit Visa, and you desire to work there, you must obtain a probationary work permit from the labor ministry with 3 months validity. If you fail to do so, you will have to pay a fine or go to jail.

Validityof the Passport

You must have a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months of validity before entering UAE. If you possess permission for residence, you should have a passport with a minimum of 3 months validity. The 3 months validity is also applicable for transiting the UAE.

Medication

If you are planning to travel to the UAE with any prescribed medicine, recommended by the doctor for your personal use, you need to satisfy certain regulations of the UAE government about allowed medicines in the UAE.

You need to get approval for certain medicines which are classified as narcotics, controlled, semi-controlled, or psychotropic, from the UAE authorities.

COVID-19 Protocols for UAE Entry Requirements

Depending on the status of the country about the number of COVID-19 cases, there are different rules for visitors to enter the UAE.

In general, all the individuals entering UAE have to follow certain protocols.

●      Every unvaccinated passenger entering the UAE from a green country should produce a negative RT- PCR test certificate. The test should be taken on arrival, after 6 and 12 days respectively. They don't need to isolate themselves.

●      Unvaccinated passengers entering UAE from other than Green Countries must isolate themselves for 10 days. They should take 2 RT PCR tests, one at arrival and another on the 9th day after arrival.

●      Visitors from green countries who have taken the vaccine, and entering the UAE don't need to stay in quarantine. However, they need to take the RT PCR test immediately after arrival and on the 6th day, if residing in the UAE.

●      Vaccinated passengers coming to the UAE from other than green countries should take the RT PCR test. They should test themselves at the time of arrival, on the 4th day and 8th day if they have arranged accommodation.

Every passenger entering the UAE should only produce a certificate of the Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction test. If they take other tests like Rapid PCR test, home test using the kit, NHS COVID test, antibody test, these certificates will be rejected in the UAE.

The certificate must be officially printed or in digital form. The language of the certificate must be English or Arabic. If someone shows the certificate in other languages, This certificate in the other language is accepted, but it needs verification from the source country of the passenger.
